Sound familiar?
You train hard, but your race time barely moves.
Your runs fall apart after the stations.
You don't know if you need more running, more strength or more intensity.
Usually the problem isn't effort.
We're just training the wrong thing.
What is the Fitness Racing Ramp Test?
A performance test built for hybrid racing. You do what a race asks of you: stations and running, back to back. Every round gets a bit harder, until something gives.
Treadmill, lactate or VO2max tests are great at measuring how fit you are when you only run. In a race you run with heavy legs, straight after burpees and wall balls. This test measures that.
For some it's the engine. For others it's the legs, the stations or how fast they recover between efforts. The test shows which one is yours.
Paces for running and ergs, plus reps and loads for the stations. So every part of your training hits the right intensity.
Already did a lactate or VO2max test? Keep those numbers. This adds what they can't show: how you hold up when the running comes after the work.
Compared to lactate and VO2max testing.
Both are great tests. They measure you in one movement. A race asks for many.
Lactate test
- How
- Step test on a treadmill or bike, with small blood samples.
- Shows
- Lactate thresholds and heart rate zones for that one movement.
VO2max test
- How
- Treadmill or bike with a breathing mask (spiroergometry).
- Shows
- Maximum oxygen uptake and breathing thresholds. The size of the engine.
Fitness Racing Ramp Test
- How
- Burpee broad jumps, wall balls and running, harder every round.
- Shows
- Threshold, maximum aerobic power and what breaks first, across stations and running.
- You get
- Targets for running, ergs and 17 movements, plus a plan for what to train first.
Racing HYROX®? This test is built for exactly that. Training mainly for a marathon or a bike race? A lactate or VO2max test is probably the better fit.
After one hour you know
Your engine, your top-end power or the stations.
Your own paces, loads and reps for 17 movements.
A clear plan, so no session is wasted.

How it works.
A 10-minute warm-up together, then the rounds until you stop. Round 1 is easy, so any level works.
A WODMotions sensor tracks every rep and every step.
We go through it together and decide what to train first.
Which athlete are you?
Everyone lands in one of four profiles. Each one trains differently.
Engine still growing. Usually the fastest progress.
Strong at stations. Runs fade late.
Holds pace all day. Sleds and wall balls hurt.
No big weakness. Gains come from details.

I race hybrid myself, so I know how it feels when the legs go at station six.

Questions.
How does it compare to a lactate test (Laktattest)?
A lactate test usually runs on a treadmill or bike and gives you thresholds and heart rate zones for that movement. This test adds what a race asks for: running straight after burpees and wall balls. You get thresholds, maximum aerobic power and targets for stations and running.
How does it compare to a VO2max test (Spiroergometrie)?
A VO2max test measures your maximum oxygen uptake on a treadmill or bike. It shows the size of your engine. This test shows how well you use that engine under race conditions, and which station or muscle group breaks first.
Am I fit enough?
Yes. The test starts easy and stops when you do. Where you stop is the result.
I haven't raced yet. Worth it?
Probably the best time. You start training on the right thing.
Is it safe?
It's a maximal effort, so you should be healthy and training regularly. If you have a medical condition, an injury or you're unsure, check with your doctor first. We go through this before your slot.
Where is it?
In Berlin. You get the exact location after booking.
What do I bring?
Running shoes, training clothes, water. Come rested.
